Natural disasters, particularly floods and earthquakes, have had a terrible influence on Pakistan&#39;s economy and people&#39;s lives over the years. To support those in need, the Alkhidmat Foundation has been at the forefront of disaster relief and management in Pakistan.

Major Disasters in Pakistan:

	<li>Floods of 2022:&nbsp;The floods devastated over 33 million people, killing over 1,700 and injuring approximately 13,000 others. The World Bank estimates that damages and losses totaled roughly $30 billion. Thousands of villages have been flooded, with over 2 million homes destroyed and essential infrastructure badly damaged.</li>
	<li>Cholistan Drought 2022: The worst drought in Pakistan&#39;s isolated desert regions of Cholistan occurred in mid-2022, due to scorching temperatures and scant rainfall. Thousands of families in the Cholistan region experienced severe water scarcity and food shortages for themselves and their livestock.</li>
	<li>Earthquake of 2023: A 6.5-magnitude earthquake devastated Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan, wreaking havoc across the region. The earthquake in Afghanistan destroyed over 665 homes. In Pakistan, it caused extensive damage, including fallen buildings, landslides, and power outages.</li>
	<li>Floods of 2023 &amp; 2024: Several parts of Balochistan were badly affected, resulting in over 1,100 deaths and affecting 33 million people, many of whom lost access to safe housing, education, and healthcare. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, flooding and landslides killed numerous people. The 2024 floods, which began in late February, also affected Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.</li>
</ol>

Large areas of agriculture were devastated by the floods, damaging vital crops like wheat, rice, and cotton that were needed for domestic and export markets. There are 67365 volunteers, 122 trainings, 39 response centers, 41249 hygiene kits, 30840 ration packages, 17000 winter packages, 61980 shelters and 2413 houses/schools/Masjids and reconstruction in response to Disaster Management Program.

Health Services

Pakistan is a nation where there are few and limited health services. Alkhidmat Health services stand as a lifeline for the underprivileged. 52 hospitals, 50 medical centers, 310 ambulances, 113 Laboratories and collection centers,54 pharmacies, 1144 medical camps and 12 mobile health units remained operational across Pakistan to provide healthcare services.

Education Programs

As Pakistan has few resources of education, Alkhidmat Education Programs provide school kits and nurture educational opportunities. There are 86 Skill development centers, 64 child protection centers, 01 hostel, 64 Schools, 1336 scholarships and 07 learning resources centers, serving educational opportunities.

Wash Program

In Pakistan, waterborne diseases account for 80% of all diseases and 33% of deaths. 3702 small hand pumps, 10293 community hand pumps, 2776 water wells, 2326 submersible water pumps, 427 solar submersible water pumps, 172 gravity flow water schemes and 232 water filtration plants ensuring improved access to facilitaties across the country.

Orphan Care

Alkhidmat orphan care program is currently taking care of over 28000 orphans, providing them full support such as education, health, nutritious food, recreational activities and boarding facilities. There are 27766 OFSP orphans, 132 clusters, 249 CMCDP study centers, 2275 activities held and 1837 orphans at aghosh in response to Alkhidmat orphan care program.

Aghosh Homes

There are 1837 orphans at Aghosh Home and 22 Aghosh Homes Operational are currently working across the country.

Community Services&nbsp;

100 million people live below the poverty line and 90 million are facing food insecurity. Alkhidmat distributes the food packs throughout the year, including 214543 Ramadan food packages, 95611 winter packages, 296543 Qurbani meat packs, 3972 Prisoner welfare, 59 masajid construction and rehabilitation, 9026 wheelchair distribution, 5601 diwali and Christmas gifts and 200000+ clothes distribution.
