Laylatul Qadr, also referred to as the Nights of Power, is one of the most important and sacred nights in our Islamic calendar.

In Quran Laylatul Qadr is mentioned as: "The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months".(Al Quran 97:3)
Historical importance of laylatul qadr
This night is mentioned in the Quran in Surah Al-Qadr, which emphasizes its greatness and the mercy of Allah.
Indeed, it is We Who sent this Quran down on the Night of Glory. (AlQuran 97:1)

How to Find Laylatul Qadr 2025
Search for the night of qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan. (Sahi bukhari)
Laylatul Qadr falls during the last ten days of Ramadan, specifically on one of the odd-numbered nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, or 29th). However, the exact night is not definitively known.
The 27th night is traditionally considered Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Decree), a night mentioned in the Qur'an as being better than a thousand months (Qur'an 97:3).
When was Laylatul Qadr 2024
Traditionally, it is believed that Laylatul Qadr occurs on 27th of Ramadan, which was the evening of 5th of April 2024. As mentioned earlier that exact date of Laylatul Qadr is not known. One can only find by observing specific signs in that night.
Signs of Laylatul Qadr

There are narrations that describe the night as having a mild, cool atmosphere, neither too hot nor too cold. Some reports mention that the night is neither too bright nor too dark.
On Laylatul Qadr, angels descend in abundance. It's said that the number of angels is so great that they fill the earth, and their presence brings peace to the night. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) mentioned that the angels do not harm anyone and bring a sense of security.
The Prophet Muhammad PBUH said: The sun rises on the morning of Laylatul Qadr without rays, as if it were a brass dish, until it rises high. (Hadith Sahi Musli, 762).
How Angels Fill the Heaven and Earth on Laylatul Qadr
One of the sign of Laylatul qadr is that amount of the descents of angels on that night is that they would literally steal the rays of the sun the amount of the light that comes and one the reasons why it’s called laylatul qadr, the night of constriction, is because the angels fill up the heavens and there is so much of the traffic of the angels between the heaven and the earth that they filled it all up carrying those praises to Allah Subhanahu Wa ta’ala.

In last ten days, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during Ramadan used to tighten his waist and he used to pray in last ten nights of Ramadan and he used to wake up his family and keeps himself away from family and abstain himself from relationship to his wife because he used to be in itikaf in last ten nights as it is the requirement of itikaf (surah baqra) verse 87.
