As flash floods triggered by heavy rains continue to ravage vulnerable areas, Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has intensified its rescue and relief operations across flood-hit districts, reaching communities affected by the rising waters.
Over the past weeks, the organization has conducted multiple training sessions for its volunteers, equipping them with vital skills to respond to flood emergencies.
“In these critical hours, our trained volunteers are the frontline responders,” said Khalid Waqas, President Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Their readiness can mean the difference between life and death.”
Since the onset of flooding across Karak, Tank, Swabi, Charsadda and some other districts, Alkhidmat teams have rescued over 200 victims from submerged villages and dangerous riverbanks. Volunteers have also distributed food packages and pitched community tents, providing shelter and sustenance to the displaced .
Alkhidmat’s response is supported by its broader emergency network. Across Pakistan, the organization has previously executed hundreds of disaster-response training sessions, helping to build an extensive volunteer corps capable of rapid mobilization.
In partnerships with government agencies such as Rescue 1122 and international NGOs, Alkhidmat’s volunteers have become a recognized force in flood relief, with decades of experience in disaster-prone regions of Pakistan.
