How Alkhidmat Foundation Provides More Help in Gaza Than Other NGOs?
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to promoting peace and justice in Gaza through a series of humanitarian initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of its people and aiding in the region's reconstruction.
Humanitarian Aid and Relief Efforts
In response to the 2023 Gaza conflict, Alkhidmat launched one of the largest humanitarian aid operations for the region. Over 15 months, the foundation delivered 3,250 tons of critical relief goods and medical supplies, valued at PKR 5.5 billion. These supplies included food, water, medicine, and essential items, reaching over 2.2 million displaced Palestinians through various channels, including chartered airplanes, cargo ships, and border crossings via Egypt, Jordan, and the Rafah border.
Additionally, Alkhidmat dispatched 20 containers filled with 400 tons of essential relief items such as rice, blankets, tents, tinned cooked meals, family packs, kitchen sets, jerry cans, and medicines. These supplies were transported via sea cargo ship through Port Said in Egypt to reach Gaza .
Women and Children-Centric Initiatives
Recognizing the disproportionate impact of the conflict on women and children, Alkhidmat's Women Wing initiated a three-day 'Gaza Packing Drive'. This drive focused on assembling essential supplies tailored to the specific needs of women and children in Gaza, including pregnancy kits, baby kits, and hygiene kits. The initiative drew participation from women volunteers representing diverse backgrounds, including students from various educational institutions.
Educational Support for Gaza Students
In a bid to support the educational aspirations of Gaza students, Alkhidmat Foundation has committed to providing educational opportunities for them in Pakistani universities. This initiative aims to empower Gaza students to pursue their educational goals with dignity and hope, fostering a brighter future for the youth of Gaza.
Rebuild Gaza Campaign
In the aftermath of the conflict, Alkhidmat launched the 'Rebuild Gaza' campaign, a PKR 15 billion initiative aimed at reconstructing homes, schools, mosques, and vital infrastructure. The campaign includes plans to build a residential tower for displaced families, rebuild a hospital, reconstruct five schools, rebuild 25 mosques, implement 100 clean water projects, and support 3,000 orphans .
Solidarity and Awareness Campaigns
Alkhidmat Foundation has also engaged in awareness and solidarity campaigns to raise consciousness about the struggles faced by Palestinians. During Eid-ul-Fitr 2024, the foundation launched a campaign encouraging participants to wear mufflers and keffiyeh as symbolic garments to show unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about their struggles while fostering unity and compassion across Pakistan.
Through these multifaceted initiatives, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza, striving to alleviate their hardships and contribute to the region's long-term peace and justice.
In addition to Alkhidmat- Islamic relief, penny press, Palestinian red crescent, akhuwat, unicef and, few others. While several international organizations have been active in providing aid to Gaza, Alkhidmat Foundation's contributions stand out due to their scale and consistency. Their comprehensive approach, encompassing immediate relief, infrastructure rebuilding, and long-term support for orphans, demonstrates a commitment to addressing both the immediate and future needs of the Palestinian people. This holistic strategy positions Alkhidmat as a significant player among humanitarian organizations assisting Gaza.
