• The Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ishmael) took place on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah (Eid al-Adha).
• The Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) Hajjat al-Wida' (Farewell Pilgrimage) occurred in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.

THINGS TO DO AND IMPORTANT DEEDS:

To maximize the blessings of these days, Muslims can:

• Perform extra prayers and recite the Takbeer (Allahu Akbar) frequently.
• Increase charity and generosity.
• Fast, especially on the day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah).
• Repent and seek forgiveness.
• Perform Umrah or Hajj, if possible.

DHUL HIJJAH FASTING:

Fasting during these days, especially on the day of Arafah, is highly recommended. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Fasting on the day of Arafah expiates the sins of the past year and the upcoming year" (Muslim). Donating to charity while fasting is also encouraged, as it multiplies the rewards.
