Children of journalists received certificates, laptops and recognition for completing free IT courses under Alkhidmat Bano Qabil at Peshawar Press Club, where the programme’s leadership pledged to expand digital learning opportunities and announced plans for AI training for journalists.

Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Patron-in-Chief Bano Qabil Pakistan, attended the graduation ceremony as chief guest. He was warmly received at the Press Club and later unveiled a recognition plaque acknowledging the extension of free IT education and skills training to journalists and their children.

Addressing the graduates, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman congratulated them on completing their courses and urged them to apply their skills in practical fields. He said access to IT education could open pathways to employment, freelancing, entrepreneurship and financial independence, enabling young people to contribute to Pakistan’s digital economy.

He also announced Digital Journalism with AI training for journalists, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in the media industry and the need for journalists to develop relevant digital skills.

Abdul Wasi, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central, also addressed the gathering. He appreciated the initiative for equipping youth with practical digital skills and said access to quality education could create new opportunities for youth and help them become self-reliant.

Khalid Waqas, President Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the programme’s role in expanding access to IT education. He said Bano Qabil was envisioned by Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Bano Qabil Patron-in-Chief Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman. What began as an initiative to provide free IT education had developed into a network of training centres offering youth opportunities to gain digital skills, pursue freelancing and work toward financial independence.

Muhammad Riaz Khan, President Peshawar Press Club; Iftikhar Ahmad, President Alkhidmat Foundation Peshawar; Alamgir Khan, General Secretary Peshawar Press Club; and Ziaul Haq, Vice President Peshawar Press Club, also addressed the ceremony. They appreciated the provision of free IT education to journalists’ children and highlighted its potential to support their educational and professional development.

At the ceremony, Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman distributed laptops among the top four position holders and presented shields to the top ten graduates in recognition of their performance. Certificates were also awarded to students who completed their IT courses.

Muhammad Riaz Khan presented shields to Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Abdul Wasi, Khalid Waqas and other Alkhidmat officials in recognition of their contributions, while Hafiz Naeemur Rehman presented shields to Peshawar Press Club officials.
