More than 250 students received certificates and shields at the concluding ceremony of Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Summer Internship Programme 2026, held at the District Council Hall in Peshawar.

More than 1,200 students from public and private universities in Peshawar had registered for the six-week program, which included online and practical classes. Students from bachelor’s to MPhil programs took part in the internship.

The ceremony was chaired by Khalid Waqas, President Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Abdul Wasi, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central, attended as the chief guest.

Addressing the ceremony, Abdul Wasi said young people accounted for more than 64 percent of Pakistan’s population and more than 69 percent of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s population, making them a valuable resource for the country’s future.

He said programs that engaged youth in volunteer work and community service could help develop their skills and encourage greater participation in society.

Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, District President, representatives of the Social Welfare and Youth Affairs departments, university faculty members and Alkhidmat officials also attended the ceremony.
