Baluchistan is coping with acute water scarcity compared to other provinces of Pakistan because it is located in a poorly fertile region, far away from the Indus River. Though the entire region is going through a water shortage, Washuk district of the province is purely a water-scarce district.
In the village Killi Yahya Nag of district Washuk, a remote area where sizzling temperatures mean enduring the day is difficult, a new hope has sprung up around a well full of water. People desperately needed water as many existing wells had dried up. Women had to walk to other villages to fetch water.
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan by digging up water well in this village has resolved the water issue of the local population. As many as 45 families would benefit from the project on a regular basis.
