PESHAWAR: To mark International Street Children Day, Alkhidmat Foundation’s Child Protection Centers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hosted a vibrant celebration aimed at bringing joy, dignity, and a sense of belonging to children living on the margins of society.
In a place where many children struggle to survive daily life on the streets, the event offered a rare chance to simply be a child. Organized festivities included colorful games, art contests, and creative workshops, all designed to promote mental and physical well-being while allowing the children to express themselves freely and happily.
“The smiles on their faces are a reminder of what every child deserves — care, opportunity, and a future,” an Alkhidmat representative said during the event. “This day is not just about fun, but about making them feel seen, valued, and safe.”
At the heart of Alkhidmat’s mission is a commitment to protecting street children by providing access to education, healthcare, emotional support, and opportunities to secure their bright future. Events like this, organizers said, help nurture confidence and highlight the talents of these often-overlooked children.
Beyond the games and laughter, the day also served as a poignant reminder of the societal responsibility toward vulnerable youth. “Every child, regardless of their background, has the right to love, attention, and a brighter tomorrow,” read a message from the foundation.
The celebration underscored a larger call to action: to build a society in which no child is left behind — and every child is given a chance to grow.
Bio. Alkhidmat has acted efficiently and provided help to victims of disasters whether that was the recent 2022 Pakistan flood or the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir.
