First 10 days of Dhul Hijjah 2023

The month of Dhul Hijjah is considered as one of the most blessed and virtuous months in the Islamic calendar. It is the twelfth month and holds a great value for the Muslim community globally. This month marks the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, which Muslims are obligated to perform at least once in their lifetime.

The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are particularly significant, as they are filled with countless blessings and rewards. It is said that the rewards for good deeds performed during these days are multiplied tremendously. Therefore, Muslims around the world consider this time as an opportunity to increase their piety and devotion to Allah.

Fasting:

As with any other month in the Islamic calendar, fasting is a highly rewarding act of worship during the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. Fasting during these days, particularly on the Day of Arafah, is considered as highly meritorious.

 

Performing Hajj:

Hajj is the main reason why the month of Dhul Hijjah is so significant. Muslims from all over the world gather in Mecca to perform the pilgrimage, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.

 

Offering the Sacrifice:

On the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world offer a sacrifice to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son to demonstrate his obedience to Allah's command.

 

Reciting the Takbir:

Muslims recite the Takbir (Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illallah, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahi Alhamd) frequently during these days as a way of glorifying Allah and acknowledging His greatness.

 

Giving charity:

The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are an opportune time for Muslims to give charity, both in the form of Zakat (mandatory charity) and as a voluntary act of kindness towards fellow human beings.
