In a concerted effort to combat environmental degradation, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, University of Lahore, and Chaoon Foundation joined hands to inaugurate the One Million Tree Plantation Drive in Lahore. The grand launching ceremony, held at the Alkhidmat Head Office, saw the enthusiastic participation of climate activists, volunteers, and esteemed dignitaries.
Vice President of Alkhidmat, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, and Vice President Zikrullah Mujahid graced the occasion alongside Dr. Shahnaz Rauf, Founder, and Chairperson of Chaoon Foundation, and Dr. Awais Rauf, Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of Lahore.
Under this ambitious initiative, one million saplings will be planted across Lahore this year, marking a significant step towards environmental sustainability. Dr. Mangat highlighted Alkhidmat's commitment to transforming garbage dumps into verdant landscapes, envisioning a greener and cleaner Lahore.
The campaign not only aims at planting trees but also emphasizes the importance of raising awareness among students and youth to combat pollution and ensure a smog-free future for Lahore and other cities. Dr. Mushtaq Mangat reiterated the crucial role of tree plantation in mitigating pollution and fostering a healthier environment for all.
