We Stand with Gaza": Alkhidmat Foundation's President Shares Urgent Update Amid Gaza's Ongoing Siege

"Until October 7, 2023, 500 aid trucks entered Gaza daily. That was the lifeline of basic human survival. Today, that flow has nearly vanished."
— Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman, President, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan

In a deeply personal update delivered on August 3, 2025, the President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan detailed the timeline of suffering, resilience, and response in Gaza since the war began in late 2023.

From October 7, 2023, to March 18, 2025, humanitarian aid into Gaza was reduced to only 100–125 trucks per day. On March 18, the situation worsened dramatically: a complete blockade was enforced. No aid trucks were allowed into Gaza for the next four and a half months.

Now, at the start of August, a limited reopening has occurred. With this narrow window, Alkhidmat Foundation, in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), has taken immediate action.

Delivering Aid by Air

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Alkhidmat dispatched a humanitarian consignment carrying 100 tons of aid materials to Jordan, which will be forwarded to Gaza in cooperation with the Jordanian government. A second ship is scheduled to depart within 24 hours, bringing the total shipment to 200 tons in just two days.

These consignments contain ready to eat meals, baby milk, critical medicines, and hygiene supplies. If this pilot effort succeeds, Dr. Rehman confirmed that a new chartered plane will be sent weekly, depending on logistical permissions.

The aid may route through Jordan or Egypt’s Al Arish port, depending on border access.

Track Record of Relief Efforts in Gaza

Alkhidmat’s role in Gaza is not new. Until the March 18, 2025 blockade, the organization had already sent 21 humanitarian consignments and one chartered plane, delivering more than 4,000 tons of aid via trucks into Gaza.

Even during the strictest lockdown, Alkhidmat’s nine local staff members in Gaza kept critical services running. They managed daily food procurement and distribution, cooking hot meals for thousands of families, despite inflated prices and severe risk.

Sustained Impact During Total Blockade

For four and a half months when nothing was allowed inside Gaza, Alkhidmat still delivered:

  • Hot meals to thousands

  • Clean water along with food distributions

  • Daily care to over 1,000 orphans, each receiving $50/month

  • Continued operations of a school inside Gaza

These programs were not stopped during the siege and are still running today.

Aid for Displaced Palestinian Families in Egypt

Alkhidmat’s reach extends beyond Gaza. In Egypt, over 125,000 Palestinian refugees have been displaced across various cities. Alkhidmat has registered 5,000 families and supports them with rent, food, hygiene, and education.

A dedicated school is educating 300 children in Cairo. In addition, 57 orphan led families have been housed in five fully furnished residential towers. Each orphan is provided with a $50 monthly stipend, with 160 orphans currently under care in Egypt.

Alkhidmat’s Education Vision for Palestinians

Education is a long term pillar of Alkhidmat’s humanitarian mission.

  • 25 students are studying in Egyptian medical colleges
  • 25 others are in Turkey at Madaniyat University, each receiving $300/month

  • 174 students have been brought to Pakistan for medical and dental education, fully sponsored

  • 74 are studying at Riphah University with more arriving soon

Alkhidmat’s goal is to host 1,000 Palestinian students in Pakistan across medical and non medical fields, to empower a new generation of leaders and professionals for Gaza’s future.
