Alkhidmat’s Role In Disaster Management

The month of July, 2022 has proven itself to have been a start of great calamity in Pakistan. Not only have the devastating monsoon floods caused a great amount of damage to the major infrastructure in prominent provinces such as Sindh, Balochistan and KPK, but has also resulted in considerable loss of precious human life.

People have been rendered homeless, During this time of great chaos and uncertainty, the team at Alkhidmat Foundation has proven itself as a savior of Pakistan.

With over 62,805 volunteers and workers, Alkhidmat Foundation has worked endlessly and tirelessly to help those affected by the floods. This non-profit organization has managed to rescue 56,220 people from various flood destroyed areas, with the aid of over 43 rescue boats and vehicles, all of which have been paid for by the organization themselves. Along with that, the workers at Alkhidmat have managed to set up 470 medical camps all over Pakistan, where they look after and treat the victims of this great disaster.

From 20th July till 15th September, the team has worked day and night to set up 40 tent cities which consist of 56,905 tents, in Sindh, Balochistan, KPK and Punjab, where they provide shelter and care to those that have lost their homes to the floods. Not only that but the organization has also set up over 17 temporary learning centers for those children, whose schools and education centers got washed away by the unforgiving floods. As a part of the flood response, the medical experts at Alkhidmat have treated over 339,521 patients and have nursed them back to good health. Clean water, cooked food, vaccines and other facilities have been provided by the team daily and with the help of the population, they have arranged over 145,510 food packs, 85,000 mosquito nets and 52,109 hygiene kits for those in need.

As such, I encourage every single one of you to come together in helping our brothers at Alkhidmat Foundation by donating generously in the spirit of sacrifice as, giving is not just about donation, its about making a difference.
